Senior Discounts – Restaurants
Did you know that there are plenty of senior discounts out there? These vary across sectors such as leisure, food and drink, retail and so forth. There’s almost always a deal you can find, particularly online where hundreds of offers can be sourced.
Much like companies and venues offering child and student discounts, senior discounts are just as common.
In this first discount edition blog article we’re going to give a run down of the senior discounts available across various restaurants. With savings almost as much as 25%, it’s the perfect list to not only discover new places to eat out but places where you can save loads of money if you’re over 60! Winner!
Our Top 3 Picks
1.) Hungry Horse – This is our top pick! Not only do they serve up delicious meals, they also have a ‘Golden Years’ menu. This menu is exclusively for the over 60’s. You can order two courses for only £4.69. If you have a sweet tooth also, do not worry! You can add a third course for an extra £1.50. The portions are slightly smaller than those on the standard menu, but that just means you can have more courses right?
2.) Tastecard – Getting yourself a tastecard is our second pick. These aren’t exclusively for seniors, however they are definitely worth having. If you are looking to eat out and save large amounts of money then this is the way forward. The Tastecard offers 50% off food or 2-4-1 meals at more than 6,000 restaurants across the UK. Both well known chains and independent restaurants have exclusive offers with the tastecard. Another reason this card is a must is because it gives you 40% off at the cinema and many other days out and offers. They currently have a great offer on where you can try a Tastecard membership for 60 days and it only costs £1! You can then either cancel or continue your membership after this time period.
3.) Greene King – Many of the Greene King pubs across the country offer a ‘Seniors Deal’. This offer runs all day Monday to Friday and allows the over 60’s a choice of either a starter and main, or a main and dessert for £4.99. If you fancy all three courses, it’s only an extra £1. Give your local Greene King pub a call to see if they have this offer.
Many pubs and country dining houses offering pensioner lunches on certain days of the week, or afternoon teas with discounted rates if you’re a certain age.
You can find out if these offers stand by calling up or checking their websites or asking around your local area. Often such places have boards outside offering these deals.
The Big Chains
If you’re looking for discounts at bigger brand restaurants then look no further. Burger King, Papa John’s and Subway are all known for offering discounts for the seniors.
Sometimes this is only at participating restaurants but it’s still worth asking at the time of payment. Such places also run voucher deals which can be found online like vouchercodes.co.uk, with savings up to 50% and also other others like free desserts, two for one and a free drink. It’s really easy to find these deals if specific senior deals aren’t in place.
In our next discount edition for seniors we’ll be taking a look at which retailers provide senior discounts, both online and in-store. So if you’re looking to save ££’s on clothes, shoes or other item then stayed tuned via our blogs section.
